Book Pages

For this project I first picked out 4 pages out of different books. I then found different words that clicked together on each page and circled them. After that, I painted the pages according to the words circled on them. For one page I drew a street because the theme of the sentance of words was about a street that people walked on. The second page had a bunch of hearts on it because the sentance was about a broken heart. The third page had different shades of blue waves on it because the sentance was about the ocean becoming darker. The last page was colored in suns because the sentance described the sun shining. The book page I liked the most was the street because the words really connected with the painting. The thing I dont like about the book pages is that I rushed on the painting of them, so I wish I could go back and take more time on them.

Block Prints

This print was inspired by my passion for music and playing guitar. Since music plays a special part in my life, I've decided to draw out a guitar and the word 'Music'. I first drew both the guitar and the word on a peice of paper and then on the back of the paper, i traced the whole thing so I could have the letters backwords. Then I shaded the first drawing and then retraced my backwords drawing onto the block. Then I took a blade and cut out the rest of the block. After, I did several colored prints by rolling the paint onto the block and putting it through the block printer. I liked this project because it was a free choice and you had enough time to complete it. I liked my design because the guitar came out really well. The thing I dont like about this peice, is that the letters are in bubble letters and I dont like it. I should've just wrote them in script. Overall this was a great project.

Perspective #1-Room

First, in this drawing I put a perspective in the middle of the page and drew the walls. Then I took a ruler and drew a square and then connected it to the perspective point and made it into a table. I also did that same thing with the dresser. For the Picture frame, I drew two lines and connected both ends to the perspective point to show the right angle of the frame according to the room. I also made a couch and a bed with pillows. Then I shaded everything and fixed all the incorrect lines. The thing I like about this piece is that i made the bed floating, but I couldn't worked harder on this piece and added more details.

Side Profile Grid Drawing

Unfortunately I lost this picture, but this drawing started out by drawing a grid on top of a photograph of Selena Gomez. Then I took a big piece of paper and drew the same grid on that paper. I then drew each box one at a time focusing on all the big things first, and then the small details. Then after finishing each box, I erased the grid and started shading. I shaded the different values of each box, some light and some dark, and then I shaded the background. The thing I like most about this piece is the hair because its the darkest shade with the most texture.

Skate Board Contest

Although there is no picture of this drawing, there are lots to say about it. I made the skateboard balanced on both sides by having the same amount of color and shape to each side. One side of the board I drew was fire. The other side I drew was waves of the ocean. Then I used markers to color both the fire and water. I made the fire purple and the waves blue. And then I left the background white. I wasn't pleased with the fire because the purple marker kept running out which made the fire look faded, but overall the project was a success.

Portrait Grid Drawing

This drawing was made by just a pencil. I started by making a grid on the photograph that I wanted to draw. Then I focused on one square at a time and I drew each and every detail. After I drew the whole portrait, I erased all the grid marks. Then, I finished by shading each part in different values to create contrast. The portrait was taken by my Ipad and was uploaded by email. On the peice, I like the way the hair is the darkest part of the portrait. The one thing that was hard was trying to make the face look real. Although the shading helped a bit, it was hard how to show the wrinkles without making the portrait look old.
